Broward County Convention Center

Broward County Convention Center

The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center is the county’s main convention and exhibition venue, on Eisenhower Boulevard next to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. It opened in September 1991 and sits on the Intracoastal Waterway, about four miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and reachable by Water Taxi.

The center has been through a $1.3 billion expansion that grows it to about 1.2 million square feet. That includes 350,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit hall space, a waterfront ballroom billed as the largest in South Florida, an outdoor pedestrian plaza with restaurants, and a connected 801-room, 29-story Omni headquarters hotel. The venue is managed by Legends Global, and meetings sales run through Visit Lauderdale, the area’s destination marketing organization. It was the first convention center in Florida to earn LEED certification and holds LEED Gold.

During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show it hosts the indoor exhibitor floor, seminars and culinary programming, and its garage is the show’s main park-once option. It is also the venue for ITEXPO 2027.
