TEDx Butterfish Cove
TEDx Butterfish Cove is an independently organized TEDx event in Ocean City, Maryland, run under a free license from TED. Its first edition, on Friday, September 18, 2026, was the first TEDx event ever held in Ocean City, staged in the Performing Arts Center at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center. Olivia White is listed by TED as the organizer.
The day ran from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. around conversations on how to live better, healthier and smarter, with 19 speakers covering neuroscience and brain health, sustainability, the future of transportation, leadership, wellness and justice. The published lineup included flying car pilot Heather Chirtea, neuropsychologist Dr. Sunita Punjabi, leadership speaker Dr. Krishna Athal, behavioral scientist Mike Rucker, PhD, author John Huffington, EV charging specialist Nick McNulty and chef Matthew Kern. The event closed with every speaker back on stage taking questions from the audience.
TEDx Butterfish Cove kicked off a three-day weekend of ideas and innovation in Ocean City, followed by the two-day E-Volution Expo in the convention hall next door. Its promotional materials carry the line “Ideas worth spreading. From the coast.”
