Watch someone break an AI model on purpose, then watch someone else show you OpenAI’s newest coding agents doing real work. That’s a Thursday night in Wynwood.

AI Demo Night comes to The LAB Miami, 2750 NW 3rd Ave #24 in Wynwood, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:30 PM ET. It’s presented by DeepStation, an official OpenAI Academy Launch Partner with more than 6,000 members worldwide, and hosted by DeepStation’s Grant Kurz. The LAB Miami is both the venue and the sponsor.

The format is the draw: no panels and no sales decks, just builders running live demos in front of the room. As of October 15, more than 130 people had already registered.

Demo 1: Red teaming small models before you ship

Polina Moshenets, founder of SichGate and a former threat hunter at HackerOne, is going to attack a live Hugging Face model in front of the audience.

Her session maps the attack surface of small language models, the compact open-weight models more teams are now running in production. She’ll cover prompt injection, jailbreak framing, reasoning-chain exploits and refusal bypass. The map comes from her own study: 924 adversarial interactions across six open-weight small language models and 21 attack categories.

The part to stay for is what she calls the failure mode most teams miss, safety drift. A model can pass its safety tests before deployment and then get meaningfully worse once it’s quantized (compressed) for production. If your team fine-tunes or quantizes models, this is the 30 minutes that could save you an incident.

Demo 2: What’s new in OpenAI’s Codex

Damian Montero, Senior AI Advocate and lead developer at JM Family’s AI Center of Excellence and founder of FloridaJS, will demo what OpenAI announced for Codex at DevDay 2026. Live, on screen:

  • Codex in the cloud
  • The Decision API
  • Code Review
  • The Agent API with computer use
  • MCP Events

The organizers are explicit that it’s programming and demos only, no product pitch, so you leave knowing how to use each one yourself.

Demo 3: A surprise

The third slot, 45 minutes long, is listed as “to be announced.” The event title promises surprise guests. We’ll update this post if DeepStation names the speaker before Thursday.
