Go Green OC

Go Green OC is a Maryland nonprofit environmental organization in Ocean City. Its stated mission is to help Ocean City become the first zero-waste resort town in the United States. It was founded by Josh Chamberlain, with its first composting pilot launched in 2018.

The group runs a food waste composting program that collects scraps from local restaurants and businesses, and works to bring recycling and composting bins back to the town. According to Delmarva Public Media, the program grew from 1,920 pounds of food waste diverted in its first run to a projected 1.6 million pounds in 2026, and from one participating restaurant to 29 businesses, including flower shops, juice bars and seafood restaurants. In spring 2026 a fire destroyed the Bobcat loader the compost operation relied on, and the team kept working with hand labor and borrowed equipment.

Go Green OC was a sponsor of the 2026 E-Volution Expo in Ocean City, and founder Josh Chamberlain is part of the expo team as media and content specialist.
