Citywide.TV (“Citywide.TV”, “we”, “us”) publishes event guides, live music calendars, a regional business directory and original video coverage across South Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. This policy explains what we collect when you use citywide.tv, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
Information you give us
We collect information only when you choose to send it:
- Contact and coverage requests. When you use our contact form to request event coverage, ask about video production or send a story tip, we receive the name, email address, and any details you type into the form.
- Directory listings. If you submit a business to our directory, we receive the business information you provide, along with the contact details of the person submitting it.
- Correspondence. If you email us directly, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and follow up.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal information through the website.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. This records information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, browser and device type. We also record anonymous events when visitors click a directory link, an event calendar, a social link or a contact option, so we can see which sections are useful.
- Server logs. Our web host records standard request logs, including IP address and browser user agent.
- Cookies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Ours are used for analytics and, if you comment or log in, to keep your session. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some conveniences may not.
How we use it
We use the information above to respond to your enquiries, to publish and maintain directory listings and event coverage, to understand which parts of the site are worth investing in, and to keep the site secure and working. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and only to the extent they need it — principally our web host and Google Analytics. Information you submit for publication (for example, a business directory listing or an event you ask us to promote) is published on the site by design. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Third-party sites and embedded content
Our pages link to and embed content from other services, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn and event ticketing sites. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that site directly, and those companies may collect information about you under their own privacy policies. We do not control those practices.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Published directory listings and articles remain available until removed. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can ask us to remove or update a directory listing. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR — write to us and we will honour them.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including serving the site over HTTPS and limiting access to submissions. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the page itself.
