Safe Harbor Rybovich
Safe Harbor Rybovich is a superyacht marina and refit yard on the Intracoastal Waterway at 4200 N Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, with a second service facility in Riviera Beach. It is part of Safe Harbor Marinas, the largest marina and superyacht services network in the United States, which has been owned by Blackstone Infrastructure since April 2025.
The West Palm Beach site combines deep-water berths with a working yard. When Safe Harbor acquired the business in 2021, Megayacht News reported 85 slips there for yachts up to 328 feet (100 meters), plus dry spaces for yachts to 194 feet. The Riviera Beach yard added berths for yachts to 249 feet, land spaces and a floating dry dock for vessels up to about 295 feet. The marina advertises a 25-foot maximum draft, no beam or height restriction, and trade coverage has highlighted its obstruction-free deep-water access to the Atlantic.
Lifting equipment includes a 660-ton lift and an 80-ton crane with a 160-foot boom, along with a spray booth. The yard handles most refit and maintenance trades: carpentry, canvas, electrical systems, engine service, fiberglass repair, welding, paint and vessel inspections. Wet slips and transient berths come with Wi-Fi, fresh water and pump-out, and the facility is open seven days a week.
Customers are mainly owners of large yachts and the captains, crews and management companies who run them, whether they need a berth, a haul-out or a full refit.
The Rybovich name goes back more than a century. Captain John “Pop” Rybovich Sr. and his wife Anna started Rybovich and Sons in West Palm Beach in 1919, and the yard made its name in sportfishing; the Historical Society of Palm Beach County credits it with a fighting chair in 1933 and records Ernest Hemingway bringing his boat Pilar there for repairs in 1934. The family later sold the yard. In the modern era it was owned and run by Wayne Huizenga Jr., who sold it to Safe Harbor Marinas in January 2021. Sun Communities, which owned Safe Harbor at the time, sold the whole network to Blackstone Infrastructure for $5.65 billion in 2025.
