The International SeaKeepers Society
The International SeaKeepers Society is an ocean conservation nonprofit founded in 1998 and headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida. It is a registered 501(c)(3) organization with regional operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Asia and the South Pacific.
SeaKeepers’ core work is its DISCOVERY Program, which connects private yacht owners with scientists and educators. Vessels enrolled in the DISCOVERY Fleet take researchers to sea for scientist-led expeditions, and the organization also runs citizen science initiatives, educational outreach and community engagement around marine research and conservation.
Each fall during Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show week, SeaKeepers holds its black-tie Founders Event, a charity gala that honors people working in ocean research and conservation and recognizes the vessels in the DISCOVERY Fleet. The 2026 Founders Event is on Thursday, Oct. 29, at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale.
