The SOAR Tour
The SOAR Tour is a traveling flying car tour led by Heather Chirtea, who is billed as the nation’s first female flying car owner and pilot. It bills itself as the nation’s first coast-to-coast flying car tour, giving the public a chance to see an electric personal aircraft up close as it travels the country.
The tour is built around a Pivotal BlackFly, an all-electric, single-seat vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that does not require a pilot’s license to fly. Chirtea has said she aims to be the first person to cross the nation in a flying car. The tour appears at auto shows, expos and community events; in January 2026 the BlackFly made a surprise landing at the San Diego International Auto Show. Its related brand, So Fly Adventures, shares the flights on social media.
The SOAR Tour was a sponsor of E-Volution Expo 2026 in Ocean City, Maryland. Chirtea spoke at TEDx Butterfish Cove on the Friday, then spent Saturday walking expo visitors through the BlackFly’s controls. She flies it to farmers markets, and on her first flight, she said, a red-tailed hawk came and sat off her wing.
