Miami Beach Marina
Miami Beach Marina is a full-service marina at 300 Alton Road at the southern end of Miami Beach. Operated by Dallas-based Suntex Marinas on land owned by the City of Miami Beach, it has 400 slips and can take vessels up to 250 feet, large enough to berth superyachts alongside smaller boats.
Slips come with fresh water, electricity, telephone and cable hook-ups, and the marina sits a short walk from the beach and the restaurants of South Beach. On site, tenants and visitors will find Monty’s, Texas de Brazil and a marine deli, as well as a ship’s store and a salon.
Much of the marina’s activity is aimed at people who do not own a boat. Charter operators, fishing charters, boat tours, a dive shop and scuba trips, parasailing, jet ski rentals and a water taxi all run from the property. Yacht brokerage and boat sales offices are also based there, making it a stop for buyers as well as for cruising yachts looking for a base close to the beach.
Suntex took an equity stake in the marina in January 2018, buying in from the RCI Group, according to Trade Only Today. Suntex, one of the most active marina buyers in the United States, now runs the property under a long-term lease with the city.
The marina is again at the center of a redevelopment debate. In April 2026, Suntex and developer Terra proposed replacing the three-story building at 344 Alton Road with a 14-story office building with ground-floor retail, a garage and upgrades to the marina and Baywalk, tied to a new 99-year lease, according to The Real Deal. The plan keeps Monty’s and a police substation and requires approval from both the city commission and voters. An earlier proposal for a 38-story condominium tower was rejected at the ballot box in 2020.
For boaters, nothing changes for now: the marina continues to combine large-yacht dockage, charters and waterfront dining in one place.
