The Triton
The Triton is a Fort Lauderdale-based news publication for yacht captains and professional crew. It covers the people, vessels, businesses and issues that shape life and work aboard yachts, with a readership centred on the crew side of the superyacht industry.
The Triton was founded in 2004 by Lucy and David Reed. In August 2021 it was bought by Triton News Network, owned by marine industry veterans Jim Bronstien and Kevin Quirk of US Marina Group, who are listed today as its publishers. Kevin Maher is editor-in-chief. The Triton publishes industry news, a Crew Life section with career advice and onboard perspectives, a weekly news briefing, a magazine and boat-show daily editions, and says its newsletter reaches more than 25,000 captains, crew and industry leaders.
It also stages the Triton Expo, a free evening networking event for captains, crew and marine businesses held twice a year, spring and fall, in Fort Lauderdale. The fall 2026 Expo took place on September 16 at Bahia Mar Yachting Center. During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, The Triton prints a daily issue on the docks, and its crew tent is a regular stop on the show grounds.
